FIAS Open Access Registry

Deposit a dossier

Describe one identifiable, versioned specification, convention, profile, nomenclature, classification, notation, data format, protocol, or reference list. The Registry evaluates whether the object is sufficiently explicit and documented to be examined and reproduced. Registration records the outcome of that review for the submitted version.

The form records a private dossier used for Registry review. No account or email address is required. After submission, you will receive one private tracking link. Anyone who has that link can read the submission and propose documentary supplements during review and after registration. Save it: the Registry cannot reconstruct the secret token. The private link is an access credential; share it only with people authorised to consult the dossier.

A specification may be deposited before its first use. Documented uses are optional. Supply the technical examples required by the selected module: examples may be constructed to illustrate the specification, with inputs, expected results and the rules applied. Use the dossier's private tracking link to propose documented uses or subsequent developments during review or after registration. Supplements are reviewed separately and retain the specification version. The original answers, decision and PDF remain accessible. Changes to rules, scope or conformance criteria require a new version.

Core description

These questions identify the object and define the limits of review.

Choose “new registry concept” unless this submission explicitly continues an earlier one.

Name the specific specification within the broader research programme.

This answer selects the next module of questions.

This records the submitter’s designation; Registry endorsement is evaluated separately.

Use the object studied as well as the method, script, tradition, or data type.

Identify who submitted the materials. This administrative information is retained in the private dossier.

Describe the scientific problem, the work underlying the specification, and its relationship to existing approaches, citing relevant sources. Identify the research groups, projects, seminars, conferences, or other scholarly settings in which the proposed solution or its formalisation as a specification was presented or discussed. Describe the context and nature of these exchanges, including informal or closed discussions. For each exchange, indicate whether it concerned the underlying ideas, their formalisation as a specification, or both.

Identify projects, publications, corpora, software, courses or other activities that have used this specification. Where known, give the version used, the date or period and a reference identifying the use. Leave this field empty if this information is unavailable. It can be supplemented after registration.

CC BY 4.0 is recommended for the text of the specification. CC0 1.0 is mainly suitable for a factual appendix when you control all necessary rights. Third-party content remains under its own rights.
